Kenelephant x Casio Computer

A collaboration sweatshirt/long-sleeved T-shirt featuring a retro-futuristic "calculator" design has been released as part of Casio's 60th anniversary calculator project!

From the 1960s to the present, Casio calculators have been an indispensable part of business and everyday life. Even as it celebrates its 60th anniversary, Casio continues to take on new challenges, and this collaboration between Casio and Kenelephant, involved in product creativity, was launched with the aim of allowing people to enjoy calculators in new ways.

Driven by the desire to "create a truly great item," and in close consultation with Casio Computer, we chose the Pocket-Mini, a legendary calculator that changed the history of calculators. While paying homage to the advertising worldview of the time of its release, we followed the visual elements seen in its promotional catalogue. By reconstructing it with new logic, we created a design that offers a modern interpretation of the existing product value. While symbolically referencing expressions frequently used in electronic device advertising from the late 1980s to early 1990s, we aimed for a "retro-future" visual that eliminates complexity and is not overly biased towards cool.

In addition, in order to reproduce the appearance and vintage texture of the apparel that companies produced for promotional purposes at the time, we have made efforts to achieve this texture by devising the printing structure and deliberately lowering the data resolution.

This is a product that users can enjoy as it changes over time with repeated wearing and washing, and can further develop into a "perfect" product with their own hands.
