| ESOW Born in Tokyo in 1972, he began skateboarding at age 13 and moved to the United States at age 17. He discovered graffiti and developed a unique style influenced by the Edo-period chic of his roots. Based in Asakusa, he has long been attracting attention not only in Japan but also in the United States, Europe, and Asia. His media range from paper, walls, wood, and three-dimensional objects to his versatile work. He has also collaborated with various brands and companies. He was a member of T19, a pioneering group in Japanese skate culture, and Daizu Experiment, a group that made a mark in graffiti history. After working at Furaidou, an atelier, shop, and gallery in the Asakusa Underground Mall, he has been energetically creating new work from his new atelier, which he established in Asakusa in 2019. |
