ELLY KAWAGUCHI/Erie Kawaguchi
Originally from Aomori Prefecture, he worked as an apparel fashion designer before starting his career as a pen artist in 2017. He primarily uses ballpoint pens, a familiar art material, to reflect fleeting expressions and changing emotions in his work. He creates works that are composed of precise lines and dots, and the colors and patterns that are visible to different people allow a single piece to convey a wide variety of sensibilities. In addition to painting delicate portraits, he has recently been creating skull works that incorporate elements of street culture.
