A major project combining reminiscence and new interpretation, delving into the works of artists who continue to leave a profound impact on the Japanese manga and art scene! Part 2 is "Monthly Manga Garo" Seiichi Hayashi makes his appearance.

This project focuses on "profiles." By tracing her diverse activities and works that extend beyond manga, we explore the allure of a "somewhat nostalgic yet fresh image of womanhood" that resonates with contemporary manga expression and illustration.

林静一 / はやし・せいいち

1962年、東映動画に入社。アニメーターとして活動する傍ら「月刊漫画ガロ」に作品を投稿し続け、1967年に漫画家デビュー。代表作は「赤色エレジー」。活動は漫画のみにとどまらず、企業広告のビジュアルやパッケージデザイン、装丁、イラストレーションなど多方面で活躍。とりわけ美人画の分野では、伝統的な情緒と現代的な感覚を融合させた女性像を数多く生み出し、「現代の竹久夢二」とも称される。
