KOTOKO/ことこ
Born in Hyogo Prefecture, currently residing in Tokyo.
I was strongly influenced by the nonsensical worldview of old gag manga that were familiar to me in my childhood, as well as the extreme expressions and bold storytelling of shojo manga from the Showa era.
He constantly creates works centered on his love for the foolishness and absurdity inherent in humanity, and his earnest pursuit of them.
Drawing inspiration from amusing moments and subtle anomalies in everyday life, the artist surrealistically depicts the unreality lurking right next to reality through eccentric color schemes and humorous character portrayals.
Using acrylic gouache and markers as his main media, he has recently expanded his activities to include three-dimensional expressions such as wall art.
