説明
What happens when you put together completely different things: an apple and glasses, a cat and a car, a shark and a toothbrush? Contemporary artist Kagami Ken, popular both in Japan and overseas for his cynical and humorous style of work such as his representative works "Milkman" and "Go Home," has taken on a new frontier with nonsense picture books using humorous images and words! You can attach anything, whether it's a T-shirt and ramen, a house and socks, or words and pictures. It's sure to inspire creativity in children and adults alike! The importance of "connecting" is something we want to convey in this age of distancing. Now, let's all "glue it together"!! This is the commemorative first in a series of art books by VOILLD, an art gallery established in Nakameguro in 2014, which focuses on a wide range of artists active both in Japan and abroad from a broad perspective. A word from the author From the time I wake up in the morning until I go to bed, I'm always thinking about various things. What I think about is how to spend each day happily, how to make it exciting, etc. Because there aren't many interesting things in the world, I have to think for myself. That hasn't changed much since I was a child. What I can do to make myself happy is very important to me. I turned some of the thoughts in my head into a picture book. I would be very happy if you feel excited when you turn the pages. I believe there are many things in the world that can be made more enjoyable if you just change the way you look at things and think about them. |
