Koichiro Takagi

Born in Tokyo, Takagi studied various materials at an art school in San Francisco, and after returning to Japan after using New York as his base of production for a while, he has a wide range of styles, from painting to embroidery.However, in his wide range of expression methods, one thing is consistent: His works contain a certain kind of discomfort and contradiction, and ``humans'' almost never appear as motifs.Motifs are often animals or anthropomorphic animals. Yes, their facial expressions are sometimes cute, and sometimes they turn their fangs towards us and glare at the viewer.There is an anonymity and mystery that can only be expected from a work that uses animals as the protagonists, creating a strange feeling that mixes familiarity and strangeness. Makes you feel uncomfortable.
