Takemaru Nagata

He studied under Tagawa Suiho, the author of "Norakuro." He also joined the "Shin Manga Tou" (New Manga Party) and was known to frequent Tokiwa-so. He is a popular manga artist known for his neat drawing style and heartwarming stories. He was the first person to introduce screen tones to manga. He won the first Kodansha Children's Manga Award for "Bikkuru-kun." His signature work, "Onii-chan," was serialized in a pamphlet for the United Church of Christ in Japan. He is the legitimate successor to Tagawa Suiho's "Norakuro" manga, along with Yamane Aoki and Yamane Akaoki.
